Last Thursday I flew to D.C. with my mom and my brother. My uncle Keith flew in too. My uncle basically rented a giant Lexus . We drove to the hotel. I didn’t go to Washington for just a “get away” – I went because I had some “business to do”. That “business” was a not a half, not a quarter but a FULL MARATHON.

Before I get to the stuff that you want to really read about , let me tell you what I did those two days before. Friday night after we flew in we went to my favorite restaurant called RPM which is the best Italian restaurant in the world! Saturday we woke up around 10 and ate brunch at Old Ebbitt Grill. Then we went to the spy museum and the Washington monument.

Sunday we woke up at 4am and we drove to the Kyle Pease tent. It was a half a mile from the starting line. We hung out at the tent for awhile and then it got real. We walked up to the start line and then we took off! We were doing good until around mile 19 and then me and Lindsay were really tired. We saw my family at several places along the route and that helped me out a lot. We finished in 5 1/2 hours and it felt good to cross the finish line and get our medals. I love doing this race because you get to run all over Washington and go past all the monuments, and the crowd support is awesome.

That night, after I ate 2 big bowls of macaroni and cheese, we hung out in the hotel with our friends from the Kyle Pease Foundation. It was sad to tell some friends goodbye, but we will see each other again in March for the Publix Half in Atlanta
