Speak using single words

    The student will use single words to the direct the actions of the red ball.

  • Star Wars

    This app features a variety of Star Wars centred activities. It has the latest news about anything Star Wars, a lightsaber augmented reality game, a soundboard, a selfies feature that allows you to take a selfie with your favourite characters and locations. The animated GIF feature lets you save or share from a variety of famous movie sequences. The sequences are arranged into categories that include: anger, confusion, frustration, greetings, happiness, laughter, miscellaneous, romance, sadness, sarcasm, SOS & panic, the force, and thinking. The activities in the app can be used with all ages and future lesson plans will focus on different language stages. This lesson plan focuses on Stage 1- using interjections.

  • Categories with Splingo

    This app is a fun way to teach categorisation! The following categories and subcategories are available: Animals, Vehicles (Land, Air, Sea), Clothing (Warm and Cold weather), Food (Vegetables, Fruit, Sweet), Drinks, Toys, Sports, Musical Instruments, Furniture, and Body Parts. When playing the game you are given various items within two categories to sort and you are to drag the different items to the appropriate category. Within in the settings menu you have the option of turning on and off the different categories and subcategories as well as the option of displaying the category name. Upon categorising the right amount of items a reward game is unlocked and you can catapult Splingo in an Angry Bird like game.

  • Talking Tom

    The student will use single core vocabulary to activate the app.

  • Google Search

    Google images for words that are chosen by the user. If the user selects the word “Play”, do a Google image search and see what images you can find. Take the time to talk about the pictures you find. Laugh, giggle, and make comments as you look at the images together. Explore the word’s meanings without pressuring the user to identify what they see. For this lesson the user will use selected vocabulary from the PRC 20 Core Starter Words.

Core Word Starter Set

Core vocabulary refers to the small number of words that make up 70-90% of what we say on a daily basis. These words are relevant across contexts and can have many meanings. The student will learn to use core vocabulary in one and two word utterances.These lessons are part of the Core Word Starter Set.
